One of the great joys of caravanning is , for me ,the cooking; be it in the van , firepit or bbq; and often all three, given enough mouths to feed(victims)   Me man, me play fire!!!!! However the new van has a different layout and the cooker is now on the left handside of the doorway. So it needs getting used to. Old ladies (inebriated) grabbing hold of pan handles etc when pulling themselves up the steps frighten me. I would like to put up some kind of half screeen /guard perhaps in perspex (heat resistant?) up . I have seen something in some pics but cant find anything to buy. B and Q products dont come near spec. Any ideas Oh Learned Ones?

I think I know what you mean from being in my Mam and Dads van.

Can't you join a piece of wood that has some metal rivetted/screwed on on some hinges so that you can fold up or down? A bit like the cooker covers on Folding campers. However instead of covering your cooking rings, it will just hinge the other way so that it hangs down the side of the cupboard when not in use.

Thanks.I think it needs something that is fixed firmly in an upright position, as it is bound to be grabbed..even when the cooker top is down. Perspex.. because of sight of and light on the burners.   I have seen them in butchers shops ,but bigger; to stop people poking about around the end of displays.
