We have bought a year 2000 Lunar Solar Eclipse van. Very tidy piece of kit, only thing is the toilet is not electric. How would we go about changing the pump to an electric one, is it worth doing that or just replace the whole system to one with an electric pump.
Why go electric, never had a problem with the manual type, current van has electric flush, switch failed after one year and replaced under warranty, now after another year switch failed again. Will be replaced when we can get van to dealer. Wish we had the old machanical type.
We've had an electric flush in our first van, now have a manual flush which I think is far superior........do you have an electric flush on your loo at home?

We have an electric flush on our current van and electric previous to that, but prior to those we had manual flush, and I'd rather have manual flush any day, less to go wrong.

There's been several similar threads on here. It isn't just changing the pump; there's a different vacuum valve, associated pipework, switches etc involved, and to be honest the other replies have got it bang on above. The manual pump is far more reliable longterm and outweighs the cost of un-necessary conversion.
Save your money to go towards site fees.
You don't use so much water with a manual flush so less refilling of the flush tank and less emptying of the waste. We also had stuff dropping onto the flush button with an electric flush and leaving the flush pump running.
