They arrange holidays for folks with disabilities so I reckon that they muct have come across all kinds of issues.

Your local Social Servcies usually have a section that deals exclusively with aids for the disabled. They tend to have rooms full of all kinds of gadgets. Try them. All the best.

How about getting one of those contraptions you put on a bed when a child no longer needs a cot?

I can't remember what they are called but I think Argos sell  them - it slots under the mattress and can be positioned anywhere along the bed and it will fit both sides of the bed.

Might be worth a shot!

I have one on my bed they are very heavy and not good for a slatted bed board as it would break it or rather smash it more like. But the idea could be there but just made of lighter wood for underneath and a firmer wood up the side. Does not have to be a big one as long as it level with bit that sticks out more ie. my backside, it should stop me by feel alone to move either over or turn back onto my side again.

There's a few ideas here we are mulling over and this is certainly one of them for me to try early enough before we leave again on Sept.2nd. Tilting it up a little at the outside is a possibility not a big tilt back just enough like a pillow or some of the sponge we have cut in a strip and put under the outside edge as I still have to be able to get out of the bed alone also.

It won't necessarily stop you falling out of bed, but it will definately help you pull yourself up to standing.

BTW, the childrens bed rails don't fit properly. I used to use one with my daughter and they are too wide even at their smallest setting, so I had to sprag it on the overhang by putting the long back cushions underneath it. But, I'm sure they could be adapted.

page cannot be found but have a catalogue this morning so getting it out. Nothing in there so I will go to the website to have a look.

Had this and gave it is sis as it did not grip too good. But it wood smash the bed slats.

Wed are going to go the way of making the extension bed. or the plywood & bit up the side way.
