Went to pick up motor home battery flat need to install solar panel or similar any suggestions would appreciate

Which battery are you referring to, the vehicle battery or the on board leisure battery?

The best way to re-charge the vehicle battery would to charge it via a car battery charger. A solar panel is ideal for keeping the battery charged but to charge a battery in a flat state could take several days depending on what wattage solar panel you connect up plus it only charges in good daylight hours ie. strong sun (which we rarely get these days). If the battery is found to be failing to hold a charge then it's time wasted so a 240 volt battery charger would be the favoured option.

Why did it go flat after such a short time?
I think I'd find that out before getting a solar panel, which may not be necessary.

I would certainly check to make sure something isn't running causing battery drain or there isn't a short somewhere.

When I had a motorhome I used one of the small solar panel trickle chargers for the battery, this always seemed to keep it topped up.
