Just wondered if you Guys could Help me out,Just returned from our first Trip in our New Van,Finally got everthing running correctly after some Teeething Problems,The only Problem I had was that The Water pump ran continuosly for the Last Night of our visit,After running smoothly for the First 3 days?? After removing the Pump,a hair line crack has appeared on the Van Connection,Only very Tiny.I did the Usual Checks after some advice from Some very Helpfull people.
Could this be the Problem?? And if so is this an easy Repair?
Did you make sure that the onboard charger was switched on to charge the leisure battery because when the battery voltage drops it doesn't have enough power to hold the water pressure and then activates the water pump draining the battery even more. It seems strange that it worked for 3 days consecutively okay, that's why I don't think it's the hair line crack in the housing causing the problem.
To Be Honest, I never even knew that there was an On board charger?? Were would the Switch be for that Tango??And how long woud the battery run off one Charge??Cheers Again
There should be a box called the MCB where all your trip switches are for the 240 volt electrics and somewhere on that board there should be a rocker switch that activates the charge supply from the 240 mains to the charger which illuminates when it is switched to 'ON'. That's how mine works anyway but mine is difficult to see as it's hidden away behind the gas fire and I have to remove the kitchen drawer above the fire to access the switch and MCB switches. Yours may be in a different location but the MCB switches are identical to what you have at home.
When you pulled out the pump and noticed this crack, was it in line where the pump plugs in (the socket).Did you look in the hole to see if it travelled "back"the ways.It might be if the housing is cracked that its drawing in air.Couple for sale here..click
I had a similar problem with the van I have just bought. The manual pointed out that there was an in line pressure switch, adjust this and hay ho the pump works as it it should. It also mentioned that if the voltage is too low at below 10.5v
We had a pump that ran continuously and we found a perished oring that seals the pump and caravan. Without the seal water was escaping hence the pump running.
