I know this is the daftest question ever but if you dont know you dont know.
We have a large porch awning and have to date only pitched on grass so just have normal tent pegs that came with the awning. What do you use to pitch on hardstanding or gravel, can someone post a link to the right type of peg and how do you put them in?
Thanks

We have the same thing, but by pyramid, they are called rock pegs I think. They have like a little screw end.------------- "I'm a fool for my dogs"

I have not had a good track record with either of the steel pegs that feature a plastic hook, that I have used.
The plastic over time fractures; both the ones I have tried had green plastic. Plastic and sunlight coupled with using a "club hammer" dont go well together.
So these days I am back with the traditional "rock pegs" like this example, and am happy with them.

I use coach bolts from screwfix. I also bought big washers to fit under the bolt head. Then all you need is a battery operated drill and screw the bolts in. Then when you go go home just put the drill in reverse and out they come.
The wife seems to manage this very well !!

I can vouch for the towsure pegs, that's what I use on hardstanding pitches. As mentioned previously I use a claw hammer to put them in. After just been at a grass site I must admit that I prefer hardstanding pitches, less messy.------------- T
