Last year I had a Rhyno motormover fitted to my caravan by a local dealer,the mover was second hand off a trade in caravan, I have the origional receipt from when the mover was new dated 22/03/2007
The problem I'm having is when I engage the mover it sometimes loses the signal & wont reconnect until the isolator switch is turned off & the mover dissengaged from the wheel,when dissengaging the wheel there is a fair amount of tension & the wheel moves about 3 to 4 inch I have made sure all the rollers are running free when not engaged (the roller end bearings were siezed but are now free turning). I'm waiting for Rhyno to get back to me but with the vast amount of knowledge & experience on this forum I'm hoping someone can shed sone light on this
The caravan details are 2001 Lunar Clubman 530/4 L single axle MRO 1020Kg MTPLM 1300Kg
Change battery in remote control for a new one and check the caravan battery is fully charged.If voltage of caravan is not up the rollers will turn with no load but when driving caravan wheels the voltage will be pulled down causing the control box to loose signal connection.
Thanks for the reply, Both Leisure battery (110AH) purchased new when mover fitted & 9 v battery in mover remote are fully charged, I thought the same & will replace remote battery to see if this resolves problem.
Once again thanks birdman101,I had the van at home & coupled to mains for about 1 week then took van back to storage 15 miles away with both 7 pin plugs connected so caravan battery should have been fully charged, I'm not away with van until 24th & van now back in storage but will try your recommendation regarding remote battery fror the sake of a few pounds for a 9v battery
Have you checked that the aerial wire from the control box is clear and unwound so the remote can see it?
Also have you tried plugging the remote into the control box using the cable supplied? it'll help you see where the problem is
After a couple of minutes without use, it will switch itself off, you don't need to move the rollers, just switch the remote off and tune the isolater switch off for 10 seconds and then turn it on again, then turn your remote on again
Thanks for the reply will check the aerial wire when next at van but seem to remember the wire is routed through a floor vent so hopefully should get a decent signal but wont hurt to recheck, as I said in OP the mover was second hand & did'nt come with connecting lead but I have some leads that should fit to couple remote direct to control box although I'm not sure where the connecting port is on the control box

The handset will turn off the controls if you use the red buttons to switch the handset off, the handset will time out on its own thus no need to switch off with red buttons.If you do use the red buttons then the isolator is the correct way to reset the box, there is nothing wrong with the mover and you are doing nothing wrong , this is how it works.
I think the lead is 3mm jack plugs at both ends, the connecting port is on the black control box
Essentially Rhyno have said the same, it times out and needs reset if it does, it'll time out whether you use the cable or not
It sounds like it's all working ok to me
The main problem with the Rhyno design is it moving back on the chassis rails and increasing the distance between the roller and wheel (it should be 22mm when disengaged)
Hi markh1 sorry for not replying earlier (been up to my ears laying flagstones), Thanks for that info regarding the 22mm there seems to be plenty of tension when mover engaged but I will check the distance when disengaged,I'm not going to storage site until 24th then off to Skeggy for 9 days
