We have come over from the dark side i.e camping lol, we have had such bad wether this year we only got to use our tent twice and then the second time we had to come home and dry it all out (took us 3 day's of it being in my bedroom) so we sold up all our camping things last week (did shed a tear or two) and are getting a caravan.
We are having the tow bar done tomorrow and going to pick up our caravan wednsday (lol I know we don't hang around) we have just bought a old little caravan to start off with a Abi supreme 11/2 as it's only me and the hubby and our 2 mini dachshunds.
We are very excited and also a bit nervous as wednsday will be our first time towing and we have to tow it 200 miles home!!!!! (I know we must be mad).
Anyway I just wanted to introduce us and we will prob be around quite a bit to start off with asking lots of questions (I hope you don't mind) as all this caravaning is new to us.
Welcome,i have been on the Dark side since May now.We upgraded to a Caravan then, after 4 years of camping. You will love it we are still learning ourselves. We have had 12 nights in ours now,and away Saturday for a week.Wish we had bought a caravan years ago,but due to finances,we have had to wait till our sons grew up a bit.Enjoy xx
Welcome, but may i say that there is no dark side.Tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes we are all seekers of the outside life and we enjoy the company of others no matter what their method of camping, enjoy.
Hiya and welcome we also came from the camping section, you will never return believe me,We bought our Abbey last year and love every trip out we have had.We have asked loads of questions some seemed silly but no one ever minded and gave us the answers.so anything you need to know just ask.and enjoy.
hi we got our 1st caravan this year too and we had a 320 mile drive home. we've spent 25 nights away in it since may. we like it when we get it on site. but we still dont like towing it. its very slowwwwww going. we would go back to tents if someone could invent a comfy bed for camping...but i am sure you we love caravannig (apart from the towing)

Must admit I enjoy towing. It feels so relaxing - except when ya get to roundabouts. Wife barks her instructions, SatNav Woman disagrees, and the dog`s going ballistic over some juggernaut that`s coming the other way . . .
But ya can go round roundabouts as many times as you like . . . .
------------- Peripheral people don`t have as much excitement but they sure live longer
Great news and welcome. We are also new to the tin tenting, as we only bought ours this week, so no doubt will be having the same worries etc as yourselves, and I must admit it suddenly feels a bit daunting! :)
Welcome to the tin tent side i am sure you will enjoy touring with the vans Bully1 and lily67 , i am also sure when you are relaxing of an evening in the van with a glass of wine or beer whilst chatting or watching TV you will think i don't miss that tent at all lol , all the best guys .
