Hi

Just arrived back from a couple of weeks in Devon, 3 days in our gas stopped working. We cooked with it the night previous oven & hob but then nothing, checked gas levels one half full and reserve bottle full. The regulator is a truma bulkhead mounted type, having reasearched these it looks like a common problem can any one tell me if I can test the regulator rather than just replacing it ? Also any suggestions on what to replace it with if it is knackered Gaslow 300 seems popular.

Thanks

Paul

It depends on what you want the regulator to do. The Truma regs block due to them trapping oily residue in the gas, most other regs let the residue through but then the pipes and appliances in the caravan can become blocked. Personally I prefer if something is going to block it is the reg as at least it is easy enough to change and if it is sited high enough most of the residue will drain back to the bottle rather than blocking the reg. Others may have differing opinions.
