I have been offered a Lunar Lexon FB 2005 for £5750 Motor mover fitted and comes with Aquaroll etc. Anyone have any thoughts or user knowledge of these vans . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Just bought a 2006 Quasar EB and think its great. Got a full service done by http://www.a-m-c-s.co.uk/and it passed, which was a relief. Motor mover is also a boost.
,Thanks guys, I've got my damp meter. its been 5 years since I owned a van, I remeber you should check under the rubber seal of the window where else should I prod
Also, it's got fitted carpet but would prefer to lay vinyl boards anyone have experience of doimg this, or should I get a pro to do it/
The vulnerable points on a 'van as far as damp is concerned are those near to where the water can get in from the outside, so, with that in mind you are looking around the edges of the van, where the walls meet the roof and where the front meets the walls etc.
That also applies where the windows have been cut out of the outer skin, like you say, under the rubbers.
Don't just go by the readings however. The inside of the van's surface should be solid and because it's usually made of a hardboard type material it will be 'soft' if the weather has got in. Have a good press and poke using the ends of your fingers on EVERY panel particularly near the places I have mentioned.
OH, and one last thing. Don't forget the "hard to get to" places, like under the seats, behind the squabs, under the bed etc.
It's your money, take a long time and don't be rushed and preferably do it on your own without the current owner 'guiding' you.
Good Luck,
PS Remember that damp invariably like water is controlled by the forces of gravity. Where water gets in side a 'van it will travel downwards.

Chindley we had a lunar a 2005 zenith, we were more than happy with it, it seemed well made and nice to tow, only sold it as we needed a different layout, hope it goes well :)

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
Greetings again,
The Lunar is no different really to any other 'van.
It isn't the 'van that causes probs. It's the irresponsible drivers of underpowered vehicles , undernoseweighted 'vans and overweighted 'vans that get into difficulties.
My 'van (Lunar LexonSE) is about as big (7.28mts) and about as heavy (1460kgs) as I would like my Audi A6 Avant (1710 kgs and 163bhp) to tow.
Yes, the book says I could tow 1799kgs but that wouldn't be a caravan. It would be a trailer with an evenly distributed load, and even then it wouldn't be for a long distance.

I owned a Lexon a few years back and had problems in winter as we could not get it warm. The pipes for the blown air heating were mainly on the outside under the van. So when it was cold you needed more heat and got less as it cooled down on the way.
