just wondering if anybody knows the reason why some sites dont allow people to sleep in awnings/annex but camping is ok, i have even seen one website stating they dont recomend people sleeping in awning due to health and safety but once again camping is ok
The only thing that I could possibly think is that on many caravans the vents behind the fridge are inside the awning, so are they worried about CO (carbon monoxide) poisoning?
hi its a shame that designers havent learnt that most want the door in the sun. if the fridge is on the other side then it wouldnt be in the awning or covered up by the door when its open . they never use them so really have no idea what really works.

Its just so they can charge you for an extra tent beside the awning, not that they would know if anybody slept in the awning anyway.
even found one that said no pup tents next to awnings but they have pitches for tents
Seems to be quite a recent thing. My brother and I slept in the awning for years when we were young. No idea why they seem to have been gradually been bringing this rule in now.
Maybe to stop huge amounts of people sleeping in the awning but only being able to charge per caravan?

but all the sites I have seen with this stipulation have electric, so most vans this wouldn't be an issue anyway.
