As above it should be tucked away to the right side of the toilet...........we thought the same as you at first as its not easy to see! I don't find it amazing for heat but think this is probably due to the fact that the pipes to this and the rear dinette vent run under the van......my next project is to insulate this as I have read on here and other forums that this can make a noticable difference. Great layout and we love the seperate shower....ours is the series 6 as the L shaped lounge suits us better at the moment due to space for the high chair etc!

We have only had one other learning experience and that was when running the heater on electric. Sometimes it would not turn on, or would turn on then turn off and refuse to work again. After the dealer replacing the control board and room stat it turns out that the problem was fixed by fitting a remote heating sensor to the bottom of the unit so it now takes the temperature at floor level. The problem with our series 6 is the room stat is located in the cupboard above the heater and it seems can't operate correctly. The engineer showed me how easy it was to fit (it just clipped on and then has a jack plug that goes into the control board) and since then we have not had any issues. It seems this can be a common issue with the heating system and bailey did start fitting the remote sensor on later models..........ours is a 2008 series 6 for info. Hopefully yours will be fine but thought I would mention it in case of any issues as the sensor is only about £30 to buy (as opposed to the £300 in bits that were replaced under warranty before they tried this),

The only other thing we have done is removed the bunk bed as we don't need it at the moment and means we have more carrying weight (its only 8 screws and easy to take out).

Don't worry if the pump sounds a bit loud ....we noticed the difference compared to the  previous ranger but it seems its just the design from speaking with other owners (its not that bad just a bit more noticeable than our older van).
