My van is experiencing weathering under the rear at each side due to prevailing wind and weather effects at the storage site. Shame the design of modern vans does not stretch to a deeper skirt to allow the rain water to run off proper;y. Can someone recommend a type of underseal which I can apply to prevent premature delamination in this area.
The wooden floor will have been treated with preservative. The problem with using any sort of underseal, paint or varnish on the wood is that eventually water will get under the finish & make the problem worse.
Weather will not affect the underside provided there is no water ingress in body allowing water to run onto top of floor which will saturate & eventually rot it. Rain on underside will just dry naturally in the breeze.

I notice you have a compass van ... mine was the same as yours on the rear corners and what causes it is the awning fill strip being pulled round the van floor and stapled underneath thus allowing the water to come down the strip and track underneath the van and wet the floor.
If you cut the fill strip off level with the bottom of the awning rail and remove the rest from under the floor it will soon dry out,

HFTURBO - I am interested in your answer but not sure what you mean can you take a photo. I have an underbed locker also and get the odd drop of water in there - i have put loo paper there it acts as a water indicator.
