What I do is lay it on the ground, with the inside to the ground. Then I roll it up to the middle from each end. Then I throw it over the middle (using step ladders) and unfurl from the middle to each end and fasten down. It usually takes me approx 15 minutes this way, on my own.

When my son came to help, he did it from the front to the back and it took 30 mins with his help! :)

Never used one i don't see the need for them sorry, look on any dealers showground/yard in winter the caravans are not covered , caravans are waterproof they shouldn't need a cover in my opinion , our caravan is sited we use it up to half way through January then leave it till March we have never covered it neither have the other 70 sited vans on the site , sorry to sound a pooper but i really don't see a need for a cover .

Dealers dont care what happens after they have sold them. We just want to protect ours from the rain sun and bird crap. Also ours is left on a farm which can be quite dirty.

We brought our van in May 2008 and we have often been told has it just left the Dealers no i tell them in winter i put the cover on and it shiny all over and the roof  and they say it a credit to you  Do you wash it  down before winter that means get the green mold of the roof( Gillian) have it service once a year to check everything is alright  .I  like to keep ours in good condition when we trade it in  and get a good price . .

Like Gillian I have never used one, however if I had to keep my van in store over the winter I would definately get one.

Hammerfan if you are in the fortunate position to be able to keep your van at home like us (on our driveway), I dont think you can beat keeping it washed and polished  during the winter, when the ice and snow is not present, just like you do in the summer.

We also use ours a few times during the winter months jsut to keep everyting moving.

During the Spring and Summer months I wash the van anout once every 2 - 3 weeks depending on how dirty the weather has made it, irrespective if we have used it or not and  From End October through to Feb normally wash the van about every 4 weeks and polish it with autoglymn at the start, mid and end of season, I also use Autoglymn to wash it. I had my last Crusader 3 years and people thought it was a new van  even after 3 years. My previous Bailey Pageant Provence I had for nearly 5 years and it had the same treatment and it also looked like new when I sold it. As I said if in storage I would put a cover on it without hesitation, at home though I dont think you can beat regular washing and polishing.

Goodness me that sounds like hard work! I wash mine at the end of the season, then put the cover on it. Open it up for a few hours mid winter if it's a nice dry day. Come the spring, I take the cover off and dust it down and that's it, except maybe a quick once over if it gets muddy or dirty while I'm away!
