I don't know if anyone else has been for a holiday up here in Scotland. But we are becoming pretty fed up with Haven Holiday Sites, especially this particular site. We have booked in here for 2 months, only because our grand daughter likes coming here. So we booked their Super Pitch.
2 caravans that were holidaying next to us left on the Saturday,Having been for a walk we returned to find what can only be described as disgusting. Bags of disposable nappies plates, cups and heaps of cigarette ends all over the grass. Added to this Dog poo littering the grass areas.
The toilets too which were renewed last year are rapidly going downhill in terms of cleanliness. Cleaners going in, and rather clean the place are seen signing the board and leaving.
This being mentioned to security have done nothing to remedy this, and still a week passes and the pitch's are still in a disgusting mess.
I for one will not be returning to Haven after this season is over. Overrated,Overpriced and a Shambolic Excuse for being a holiday company.
My advice to anyone who is considering a holiday at this site give it a wide berth, and spend your well earned cash somewhere where they do care for Holiday makers
------------- How many roads must a caravanner go down before he admits he's lost!
I was always taught to leave a place as you found it, but some don't seem to care these days. I experienced similar on a small site recently, a caravan left a right mess behind, similar to what you describe. They had also been using the back hedge for the toilet, I assume they couldn't be bothered to walk to the loo block.
Its hard to imagine why people do this,Nappies of all things, the garbage area is less than 100 feet from the pitch, We always clean up what little mess maybe left after packing things away. I just only wished I was there before they left, I would have went to town on them.
"AARRRHHHH" makes me so mad

My son was not over joyed by the site ,he found there were to many kids running about unsupervised and the bins were full and needed to be emptied, he too said he would not go back.
Been twice this year but only because we booked both together.
We won't be going back for the same reasons as mentioned above.
When we have my daughter or our granddaughter we will either use Sundrum purely for the kids entertainment or Craigie Gardens and make our own entertainment plans.
TBH I have found them all to be fairly similar, but when we go, the caravn is literally somwhere to eat and sleep, we use the facilities all day, so it doesnt bother me too much, we do take extra security precautions on them though.
I have complained a couple of time, not sure its made a difference.
My gripe is the off pitch by 9am on some of them (seems to have been relaxed a little, you get 10am now) but they do nothing with the pitch once you have left, we have arrived to find rubbish etc left from the previous occupants, IMO the early leave is to get you to spend the £5 on an extended leaving time, rather than anything to do with pitch maintenance.
just had a week at haven phwelli and to be quiet honest i was very impressed with both the site and facilities ,a tad overpriced if you use there shops and bars etc ,but as a touring base spotlessly clean and tidy ,with no problems at all .and extremely polite and helpful staff and wardens ,and spotless toilets and showers .
i wouldn't like to visit the haven aparments though looked a bit like colditz but thats why we have a tourer
Got response back last night from head office. The Touring Manager Adam Whitehouse came to visit. We discussed some issues and said that "we" should listen more often to Caravanners. Maintenance staff where round this morning and cleaning up litter and sweeping.
However the toilets remained in an unhealthy state after a cleaner had been in allegedly for 1 and a half hours cleaning, clearly not the case when the problem of the shower traps still remained and excrement on the walls.
So have written another Email to head office. Will follow up in due course.
Haven Need to buck up their Ideas fast

Hi
Vited the haven site in the lake district and they sandwiched us in between 2 other caravans on my last day had yo wait a hour for one of the vans to move. Queues for the bar and food no body seemed to care. Wouldnt do back there again.
We`ve always been pretty happy with Haven, having used their statics for some years. We`re going to Flookborough in 3 weeks; it was a quagmire last year (our first ever touring trip) and we`re back for more! . . . Portmadoc was OK, Presthaven was very good and well away from the hub of things. Book darned early, then even if things aren`t so good, youi won`t think you`re being ripped off!
------------- Peripheral people don`t have as much excitement but they sure live longer
Craig Tara is horrible! we ended up leaving after a few days its the worst Haven site iv stayed on!
On the plus side:- Just had a weekend at Lakeland on one of the new Euro pitches theyv built 25 new pitches and what a difference they make! We had a fab weekend and some of the Haven touring sites have been completley refurbed! Marton Mere at Balckpoolh as the new Euro pitches, we stayed on Greenacres at Porthmadog and this is a fab location but the touring area in need of a refurb. Hafan Ye Mor has new Mountain View euro pitches and loads to do for kids.
Point is:- Check which ones have new touring pitches, dont go in peak season or BH if you want to avoid the queues as they get mega busy, check online early for good deals, we paid £27 for 3 nights at Lakeland on a new pitch, bargan for what we got! We personally really like SOME of the haven sites but you do have to choose carefully! And finally - its the people who stay on these sites that often leave them in this mess, and I wouldnt say its the cheap £9.50 sun deals either! its the caravanners amongst us lot that are the culprits! iv seen smoe horrnedous families this year that give us all a bad name and tenters, kids running riot, loud music all hours, noisy in the mornings 7am! dogs off leads and fouling, kids running riot in the toilet blocks and its not just on Haven sites!! You know who you are if your reading this post!!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
