Hi all, This is a hypothetical question.

I recently purchased a 2nd hand caravan from a small retailer, I noticed that they took credit cards, so I purchased it on my Credit Card then paid off the balance.

If in the future the van had come back as stolen for some reason would I be covered by the credit card company.?

P.S. I did do a CRIS check and it came back clear, I was just wondering.

If cris said it was clear when you bought it, why are you thinking that it will show being nicked in the future?

Difficult one, certainly you have protection paying by credit card but possibly they could get out of it by claiming you were negligent if you did not do a Cris check. I think you will find though that in the event of a mistake by Cris that you are indemnified by Cris & they would refund if a caravan that they had stated was clear turned out not to be.
