Just change vans to an Swift conqueror 530 been told we need a size 14 awning
Been looking at lightweight awnings like the sunncamp 390 but have been used to a Bradcot Active on an Abbey Stafford I want a lightweight awning with space and don't know if a 390 will be too cramped, do I go with lightweight or stay with a standard awning? Now got to sell the Bradcot haven't got aclue what size it is any ideas?
We now use the 390 lightweight awning and find it alot easier to put up rather than the full awning, we leave shoes and coats in it and manage to get four bikes in overnight, I personally find that we have enough room.
Would recommend the Kampa Rally 390 awnings, good sturdy quick erect awnings with more useable height at the front than the more rounded Sunncamp models, and a good amount of depth too at around 8ft in old money lol, we loved our 260 so much that we went and bought a 390 for when the grandkids come with us and need to sleep in the inner tent with OH.
If you buy the storm straps and rear upright poles they are as snug fitting as a full awning, and very weatherproof, even in the high gales we had here over last weekend.

i have kampa rally 390 with the rear upright poles and use this for short trips very good light weight awning, but i also have just brought a full size awning for the 2 week summer holidays when i think its worth while putting in the extra time to put up a full size one .
We have been using a Kampa 330 Club this season and loved it! Plenty of room for 2/3 of us and the CLub version has more options of which doors to use, panels to zip out on hot days etc. Im sure you would have loads of room in a 390.
Added bonus of lightweight awnings is they are much easier to dry out after being away in our lovely summer weather!

Anniemacxx, do you have any photos of your Kampa 330 Club in use? They look very nice awanings, we have a Rally 260 which is great but looking like we'll need an annexe for our son and the Rally would then be half filled with the annexe. So a Kampa awning the next size up looks like the way to go for us.

Hi Savanne - Sorry I dont have any pics, but you would only gain an extra 70 cms which, while a good living space, I think would be small for an annexe inside? Not sure how big the annexe would be but it would encroach into the living space quite a bit I would think?
The only reason we got the 330 is because we wanted as much space as poss without the awning going on the front window, and a 390 would on our van. It has been perfect for us as son sleeps in a separate tent anyway.
Have you seen the 260 Rally plus with annexe? That might be just the job, without encroaching on living space? There's a 330 and 390 model model too?
We switched to a Kampa Rally 390 this year after having a full awning on our last van. We have used this for long weekends and also 2 week holidays and it is fine for a family......easy to put up and lots of room. As mentioned above it drys out really quickly and the added bonus is when we change vans we won't have to change the awning again. I would say that the rear up right poles, storm straps and monsoon poles are a must and we have been away in terrible weather this year (heavy wind and rain for several days) and it stood up well. I think I would only go back to a full awning now if we went for a seasonal pitch!
We are about to switch vans too from a Ranger 550/6 to a new Swift 580 - we are seaonally pitched and used a full Isabella but as the new van has more storage we don't need the awning up all the time so are going to use a lightweight one this year
