Just got our caravan back from TOURER WORLD,BRIGHOUSE,WEST YORKSIRE, on friday as it had gone for its annual service .
My wife was made fully aware that it takes 4 days to service a caravan!
4 days i thought, that will be about right considering it is having some body and warranty work done.
But yes you guessed it, my van came back with a leaking sink and a broken aerial booster, and still had the dings in body.
I had written confirmation that when it came in for its service the dings would be rectified on its first service but oh no, it was my fault as i did not remind them!
The caravan was delivered with a broken fridge, broken clock, window blinds needing re winding, broken shower head, loose back light, awning light out, shower light out, a new awning which was a graded second but i was not made aware of that either.
To say i am a little sore is an understatement,
I was told that i will have to leave my caravan with them for another 3 weeks and if i take the caravan back, it will not be picked up for the dings doing.
I have multiple sclerosis so i had the towing part of my license taken off me, which TOURER WORLD ,BRIGHOUSE,WEST YORKSHIRE was made aware of prior to buying a van off them but at the time of paying it was fineand everything would be taken care of for me.
So at the enf of the day, i got ripped off in broad daylight and i am struggling to get the work done.
Please be aware all may not be as its seems at the time of shelling out thosands and certain dealers should HANG THEIR HEADS IN SHAME.
Oh yes and the receptionist said at the time of paying that i am very particular and i should take the caravan and not deal with them again!
Another a+ pupil from the paul goodall school of customer service.
I wonder if the goodall part of his name is part of the goodall caravans of huddersfield.
Maybe i have just been unlucky with my £11000 caravan this time.
APPROACH WITH CAUTION PLEASE
That's awful
I always write down everything that needs doing when I drop the caravan off now and I go thru the list with the dealer so there is nothing missed and no misunderstandings. Yep once bitten and all that.
------------- Live every day as if it's your last but not at risk to others :-)

He will certainly be part of the family that owned the Goodhalls caravan
Dealers from Crossland Hill huddersfield that went bust in the late 90's, the site that is now Lowdhams.
------------- Bill
For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Yeah, I only went back for the warranty work and dings,.
I hope nothing else goes wrong as I really don't want to see them again.
It's time that everyone stuck together and got these dodgy dealers bang to rights..
They are the son,s I think Julian runs the one at the Sovereign crossroads
We had a look but thought they were too dear for what they were offering We too had a run in with a crap dealer and now use Peter roberts at Honely for our service work and found him so far to be ok
I know goodalls had a site in Bradford which has closed down!! , and also I think they have one out of Huddersfield towards Sheffield way but not sure if it's still going

That's the one at Sovereign Crossroads just off Penistone Road that Geoff mentioned. Also well overpriced on used vans.
------------- Some days you are the dog,
some days you are the tree.
Yeah that's the place.
Anyway my tv aerial power pack has bust, I think?
Was working fine when then the van went for service.
Should I just get another or should I (try) make tourer world sort it?
IMHO thay bend over backwards and promise you the moon to get a sale and then they treat you like your the fussiest person in the world...........most dissapointing thing we have done in getting a new van.
We were told take it away and write down all it's faults then bring it back..............er sorry but isn't that what you pay the PDI for?
I agree we shouldn't stand for shoddy after sales, but somehow they seem to get away with it.
I totally agree.
When px ing my caravan ,a 2000lunar lexon eb, they knocked me £2000 off the price for some damp under the bathroom window and some awning marks.
Rest of van was fine.
I also saw the pdi of my caravan supplied from them which states .awning dings, no carpets ect which would have reduced his purchase price.
But never mind all that, now its time for repairing these things, i am being particular.
I have also sent off 2 emails direct and heard nothing back.
This company promised me everything but when the money is in their back its see you later!
Sounds a lot like my experience with the last two vans I bought from different dealers. They all seem to do it. The salesmen promise inspections and servicing etc., then when you go to pick up the van they have done s*d all and expect you to find all the faults for them. Totally sick of it myself - I feel for you.
Maybe when we go to buy these vans we should take along a video recorder so that when they default we can play it back to them your salesman said this etc etc.
