Hi, I've bought a new leisure battery just as a spare in case the one in the caravan fails to deliver sufficient charge to get my caravan back on the drive using a motor mover. This wasn't a problem after the first time of using it, even after a week away.
So I have a spare brand new leisure battery and wondered where was the best place to store it as I won't be going anywhere over the winter.
Would it be best to store it somewhere in the house? Would it be ok in the shed in the garden? (I kept a mister shifta plus battery in there for years - it's dry, but not frost-proof.) How often should I charge it to keep it up to speed?
I usually charge the one in the caravan a couple of times over winter, should I do the same with the new one?
mine's kept in the garage on the work bench sat on a piece of polystrene kitchen tile, wrapped in an old door step carpet and charged thro a smart charger (aldi) through out winter and we never have any problems and its a 120 A/H Numax battery. Caravan does not have a battery charger (Adria) and we need it for the Mover, and take the smart charger away with us.
