We are currently using the van and have noticed anything which runs off Battery causes a massive drain. So went out a bought a Brand new Battery (Numax).

We are still seeing a huge battery drain, so we have connected a battery charger which has cut off for when it's full, but even with that one small light will drain the battery fast.

Could this be an earth issue?

EDIT: We have mains hook up, so only water pump and roof lights run off battery, none are in use currently as we're using wall lights from mains, but if I switch on the awning light the battery monitor goes lower and lower.

Sounds like a poor contact or a short circuit , best i can suggest seeing your away is put your awning light on then pull your 12volt fuses out one at a time and see which one stops the drain when removed , maybe this will give you some ideas what circuit is causing a problem .

Fridge is defo on mains.

The thing is the Battery indicator is on full until a small light or the water pump is put on, then it drains within minutes, not hours.

Will explore the fuses tomorrow as suggested.

Thanks

Couldn't be this anyway.  The fridge cannot be switched to run off the caravan battery - not without modifying the electrics.  When in the 'battery' position, the fridge will be powered from the car's battery - and only when the alternator is producing something over 13 Volts.

We tend to switch the pump off at the wall when not running the taps as when the battery fades it will run continuously, but if the battery is full it will switch itself off.

Could well be that the pressure switch needs adjusting then. Just a case of screwing the knob a little until the pump stops but I don't remember which way to turn it.
