Hi all,

My prized possession Lunar Lexon 570, has just had its second service and its got damp in TWO places!!

The first is a window rubber on the front that has shrunk, 20% damp.

The second is a window rubber on upside down!, that has got 30% damp.

My local dealer has contacted Lunar for a claim, needless to say im gutted and furious at the same time. I bought this van brand new and paid alot of money for it.

Anywhere else and I would be damanding my money back.

Is there anything I can do other than wait for the dealer to get back to me after hearing from Lunar. They've told me not to hold my breathe.

Fortunately I've bought a full cover for it, which will be staying on until its fixed. Once its fixed what happens to the "dampness" already in the caravan, will this dry out without any problems?

I look forward to hearing from anyone in the know.

thanks

I had to have a window seal replaced recently as there was a 20% damp reading on the O/S rear window and the seals are not covered after 2 years of age .
I had to pay £90 for a replacement seal plus labour which worked out at £130 .
Since being repaired the damp readings are now down at less than 10% .

What do they mean don't hold your breath! - remember that your dealer is your representative to Lunar and if they take that kind of negative attitude before they have even spoken with Lunar then it doesn't sound they will be putting a great case to them.  We had a little localised issue with our van this year, we identified a problem just prior to the last warranty service, but the dealer didn't actually discover the root cause until after the warranty had expired.   However, our dealer managed to persuade Lunar to rectify the issue fully with no cost to ourselves.  As a result we have great faith in Lunar and especially our dealer and their service guy who updated us every other day of the vans progress.  Issue nipped in the bud and fully rectified all within a couple of weeks, so please ensure that your dealer is truly fighting your corner well for yo,u as we have only had a very positive experience with Lunar.  Good luck!
