I don't tow one sorry, but this comment you've found is a bit of a sweeping statement in the review to be fair.

Taking the Fiesta as an example, the towing limit varies across the model range between 500 to 900 kgs; the van you mention has an MTPLM of 929kgs, so exceeds the cars permitted towing weight!

Similar applies to the Corsa too, so alternative choice of towing vehicle needs to be considered in my opinion.
Are you considering changing to one of these vans, and if so, what do you drive currently?

We spotted a Yaris diesel towing a tiny Wisp caravan on a CL in North Wales last summer, the owner was very pleased with its towing performance, but being an older caravan, it was likely that the weight was less than the one you mentioned above.

Depending on exact spec of Yaris (year, 3 or 5dr etc), it will be limited to a towing weight of between 900 and 1050kgs, but to be honest I think unfortunately that a 1.4d would struggle with a van of this weight.

I tow the 302 with a Hyundai i30 diesel it's a good match, the thing I would watch for is the weight for the tow ballthe car limit is 70kg,the van is 100kg and can be a pain to balance right

I tow ours with a Passat 2.0 diesel too powerfull I know but no problems.   I would think that a diesel car would be the best bet its all about the torque .
A quotefrom Towcar.info The Peugeot 407 SW - 2.0 and the Elddis Xplore 302 with a laden weight of 930 kg is a perfect match. so a diesel car around that figure. Hope this helps. The 302 is a lovely small caravan its been perfect for us I don't know why Elddis stopped making them.
