Is there anything I should look out for? I've just bought a Stanley moisture meter from b&q, what sort of readings should I expect and where should I be checking? I've got about an hour and a half till I get there

The 340 Aventura twin axle has a MPTLM of around 1610kg which would make it very close to the Outlanders kerbweight .
Could be close to a 100% match depending on which model of Outlander

Whattowcar uses data from European Spec cars so often the figures are different from UK spec cars which are lighter .
What model of Outlander do you have ?
If your new to caravanning I would be looking for a lighter van and try to aim for around 85% of your cars true kerbweight .

It's the elegance model, I think the unladen weight is about 1765kg on my log book, I know I should be looking at 85% but we really like the layout of that type of caravan so I'm willing and happy to tow at 91% especially as our car is always laden with plenty of weight when we go on holiday

The caravan was great, we loved it, looks really well looked after, couldnt fault it at all, checked all the places you suggested for damp and never got a reading over 16, and it had been raining on route and all the night before, the bloke seemed very honest and helpfull, so its just a case of making that final decision and trying to get the money together before it sells!

I double checked the mas on my logbook and it states 1765, but i was warned not to use the info on kerbweight and gross weight on my logbook but to use the weight stamped on the plate on the car, so how do i find out the kerbweight of my car, as what tow car says slightly less then 1765 and accordings to parkers website the kerbweight is about 1690 ??? think i might just take it to a weigh bridge!

According to the caravan club the kerbweight is 1690 making it a 95% match So if you get it you will just have to take it steady....Also the engine power is quite low so it may stuggle a bit..Shame you could not have a test tow just to see how it went
