Thanks, at least we had new for old insurance and because of the time of year we get a 2013 model, just have to wait for it. At least it didn't happen earlier in the year. I hope we can work ours out!
Considering one of these but whilst I havent approached the insurance company yet for our new van what is the benefit? Not sure I'd want my van back if it was nicked... or are the insurance company likely to insist on it given its a brand new twin axle elddis crusader worth about 24k?
vonc - Totally accept both points but these bits of kit are £500+ to fitted and £100 a year, no insurance premuim reduction is going to save you that surely??
Hmm well for me who keeps mine in a gold secure storage they could i suppose try and pinch even with a tracker or even on a site, if you are not there at the time the tracker wont stop them pinching it, might help the police locate it quickly but come back to my original point if someone nicks it they can keep it for me
A tracker is a good thing to have. We had one on our caravan and sometimes it was set offf when the sun shone on the sensor. We found this out when Phanthom rang to alert us at the same time on a few days.We then made sure we blocked the offending window. At least we knew Phanthom were on the ball.
Just do it...Well I for one will not be spending my money on storage...I will be spending it on £99 yearly monitoring of my caravan ...a lot less than placing my van on a Gold storage site....so from my point of veiw a big saving

Our new van has a tracker fitted, but we will also purchase a phantom tracker. I don't think that the caravan club or any other insurer would be impressed if our van was stolen for a second time. I think it is well worth the extra expense. We don't want to put our van into storage so in addition to the tracker we are getting CCTV, lights and a heavy duty chain.
Lol Mrs Bonce...we have a twin axle so have 2 alco locks and to get the 2nd one on u have to jack up the van !! also a alco lock on the tow bar and then the Phantom Tracker....its on our drive...where did your previous van get stolen from ? off your drive....not into locks and chains lol ...we think what we have is enough...and like i said the quickness of the response from phantom was fantastic....

Fair point but a tracker isn't much use when you advertise you are away from your house because you've goe away in your caravan.. That is why storing it at home simply is not an option given my circumstances
