We have just bought our first caravan after years of camping with tents and folding campers.

It is a beautiful swift corniche 14/4 and seller informed us that it is a 1995. How do we find out the date. Is the VIN number always 17 characters? We found something etched on one window and the A frame but this only has 10 characters.

post 1992 all windows should etched with the chassis number.if on drawbar first two digits give year. if on the window the tenth character gives year model. ie. 5 is = 2005

Ahhh, I see. Looks like she is a 1991. Alls good though as she is in great shape. Cant wait to take her out next week for her maiden voyage lol

I have read some good things about the swifts. I think she going to make a great starter van for us.... loving every minute of getting to know her. Bring on the winter caravaning lol... oh happy days!
