Just bought a second hand caravan, first time caravanners. Exciting times ahead!! One question, with electric flush toilet do you need to empty the flush system before towing?? When collected some blue stuff spilled out onto floor during transit.

hard to answer without more detailed info ,do you mean in the bathroom or in the cassette box etc.
also unless you are intending to go away in the next few weeks a complete drain down of all water systems is essential ASAP .

water freezing in your caravan pipes and tanks while laid up can do a enormous amount of damage

In the bathroom. We are going to storage place to empty it this weekend. Water all emptied just toilet to do.

sounds like the flush flap was left open ,if not it could be more serious .check the sliding flap opens and closes to seal the bowl off

We always empty the flush tank before travelling.

always empty any water in all containers including the toilet header tank.if the centre toilet slide was left open then this accounts for your blue water splashing out on to the floor.if not it could be a more serious problem like a leak.
