I know everyone must be fed up of porch awning topics but I can't seem to find the perfect one :( we've had ... Scenic, swift, kampa rally and a NR coniston .... None of which were just right ... We are looking at a dorema alpha but not sure what a stand alone awning would be like to use.. Our perfect porch awning would be water proof, good in windy conditions, easy to erect and no more that 2mts wide to fit the awning rail and not come down over the window ... The NR was almost ok but too small :( the alpha is a much better size but up to now I've been so disappointed in porch awnings I'm unsure ... Please any info on your fav porch awning would be most welcome especially if you have had or have got a dorema porch !
We have got a Ventura Cadet and with a little wiggle the porch fits well. BUT they usually fit across my side of the bed window about a good third way. So had we known this we would of gone for the same make but a full one as its only about 2 ft more ish. Would of been a lot easier to erect as the Ariva is a smaller caravan a porch can be too big, so why not get the full.
But on saying that we are extremely pleased with the material. The ease of erecting after sussing it out. But as I cannot help Bob much he is really more or his own so that is another reason why we should of gone for the full awningas its easier.
Hope this helps as we have the same caravan. The Dorema is vitually the same as the Ventura. We checked both out and found the Ventura better. But remember the porch goes across the window. So you need a full one.
Check out Google under the namesake see for yourself. Isabella is good.
Hi Chrissie we have a full ventura awning but want a smaller one for weekends ... The cadet you have is much wider that the dorema alpha, we do find it easier for weekends to use a porch awning as everything is smaller to deal with even if there are more poles !
We found what with my wheelchair+Bob;s recliner chair it does not leave much room to put a table up for us to do other things, both eating, playing scrabble and his painting wiht numbers bit.
So when we bought ours in just inn August and went away Sept. we soon found out we needed a full one to swing around as if you look on my profile I am not exactly small, neither is my manual wheelie. Other than that we are very satisified with the make, canvas design etc. Just a shame we made the msitake of the porch awning.
When I checked the sizes of both Venture & Dorema either Carera or Daytona they seem wider than the Ventura Cadet.. Needing between 794-800cm for full awning.
We have the Bradcot Modum awning. The basic package is 2 metres in width and every panel zips off. The poles anchor through the ladder stays and this makes it very secure in high winds.
I have tired looking at Isabella but as our van is in storage its not so easy to make sure we get the right measurements this time. We like our Ventura but wished we had gone for a full one now as it is not much shorter than a full one and would certainly give us that little bit of needed extra.
Also when we got this one he actually thought we had the Lunar Ariva that goes up at the back. Just as well I had my camera on me(not usual) as I had taken a couple of shots of our van so he then changed it to the right shape as it goes round and down at the back.
no sutch thing. ther all a bit like tents. drafts. leaks. condensation. blow away in the wind. . to cold when its cold and to hot when its hot. only to be used in perfect weather.. and very over priced. a wise man once called the a divorce in a bag.....i ve got a campa rally and i love it............

Disagree.
had 6 weeks of rain, wind, gales etc. with a litle sun. The awning with stood it all.
Mind you we changed our pegs to use our own type via member Rob by using Delta steel pegs for stony ground and Delta plastic for grass. No problems anytime. No leaks, drafts.
We have used different forms of either awnings, tents ridge+frame+trailer tent+floding camper. Had nylon, older type canvas and now the Ten Cate which has proven to be the best thing we did. Where other awnings ripped ours did not. Others either ripped or moved a lot blowing with the wind. ours did not.
So you get what you pay for.
Our nephew wanted a lightweight and found it ripped in wind. He went back to the ten cate awning canvas and never looked back again. Had he paid it out in the first place he would not only have saved money but also the agro of the inconvenience of searching around for another whilst on holiday.
i am glad you found a good one. but...you have after years of trying varios forms of canvas/nylon tents and awnings have found just ONE that works..this sort of backs my statment up. come on you know it does...??

This is not years of trying things out. This is just changing things we wanted to as we married, had family, family gone, back to being fit, disabled, new things, old things. Just the life we led. But only small tent that was a nylon one it was lousy leaker. But none others. I just checked with Bob he said no others. So we have had it good
We have recently got a Dorema Quattro porch awning. It fits our Sterling Europa well. Tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was easy to erect. It's got the easy grip aluminium frame which helps. Although have only used it for 5 days so far we are pleased with its quality and ease of erection.
I would put a picture up if I can fathom out how to do it.
