Does anyone know how to get access to the fan in a Carver 5500 Turbo Fanmaster? Have tried to remove the front but can't figure out how to do it. Will not be messing with the gas, just want to see why the fan is 'labouring' when we switch it on. Anyone know????
Fan is at back. Depending where fitted at bottom of wardrobe or often below drawers, access inside wardrobe or remove drawers, other than that you will have to remove which will mean disconnecting gas supply. Here is a contact who will advisehttp://www.arcsystems.biz/

Before you do anything, make sure the battery is well charged.
Other that that it may simply need a clean, you will find the fan assembly poking out of the back of the fire, first, locate the wiring to it and pull the plug out of the control box top right.
Now, down the left side of the assembly, at about 4 o'clock, you will find a tab of plastic poking out, lift this a little and pull it back towards you and the assembly will release. Now gently ease the fan out of it's housing, it's a very tight fit so has to be eased out carefully so as not to bend the very soft housing it fits into too.
Most common problem with the 5500/4000/2000 fires is the slide control switch, if this does not work perfectly it causes all sorts of problem. All of which I can fix as part of a repair and upgrade service.
