Hi could anybody advise me here, i checked caravan floor exterior at the weekend gone and noticed that the plywood underneath was very wet at the rear corner. This is the lowest part and most water will drain off at this point, when checked i noticed that the caravan skin goes right down and then wraps around the bottom and then the ply floor starts straight off at this level, theres no break to where water can drop off however at the front it has a void where the front lockers are situated, much better detail. Would it be better to adjust caravn to drain off towards the front with corner steddies or is it okay as it is ? The inside of the van above the rear corner is sound and dry...any advice please ! thanks tintent 1
i have read of this before, not sure what the cure was.you could try to stick a strip of sealer across the corner just before the water reaches the floor itself.water would then drip off at this position and not run to the floor.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Have had this on a previous van on both rear corners. I found that running a bead of silicon along the edge where both meet, leaving it proud and not smothing it down, also fashioning an icicle shaped piece of silicon for the water to drip off worked really well...
