Yesterday we received our Caravan Club Sites book for 2013. I noticed that it had undergone a facelift but didn't have a look inside.
Today the latest magazine arrived but it was what was inside that really caught my eye.
There was the usual folding map showing where the CLs were but, (and it's a BIG but), instead of the usual black dots which were neither use nor ornament, the CC have gone down a similar route as the C&CC by numbering each site with a corresponding entry inside the book.
It's taken forever for the Club to make these improvements and I for one applaud their efforts in making the type larger and easier to read and giving us a clue as to where each site is.
Well Done.
------------- How come when some people visit the fountain of knowledge, they only gargle!!!
I agree the map's referencing is a big step forward.
With the Club not keeping pace with week end/school holiday demands for main site pitches they need to do all they can to facilitate members using CLs, or lead to mass dissatisfaction.
Whilst I don't like prices increasing at least this year it is below a 2.5% and at a single £1 will not impact noticeably on our life style choices.

And the annual membership fee's have increased again .
Greetings Neil and Lena,
That hadn't escaped my attention. I'm no lover of the CC. I don't consider them a 'Club' in any sense. They are a multi million pound international business/travel agency who continue to be a 'Club' for the benefits that their membership brings to the organisation, but, on this occasion, I have to give credit where credit is due.

Until recently we were ardent supporters of the Caravan Club but we have become a bit disillusioned with the way in which the club is run .
So from 2013 were not renewing our membership and will continue using the C&CC because of the age concession discount which is a considerable saving on pitch fee's.
Not received ours yet although got the magazine yesterday. I feel we do not use either Club or CL sites enough now to keep up our membership, so will not be renewing this year.

Maybe next they could improve their website? Finding your way around is a nightmare, finding sites, finding prices..................
Do you meane the cc or C&CC site. I find the cc ok, the C&CC is truly shocking
Ive been a member for 10yrs. Used to use the cl's but every year prices increase by
about 20%, As I go out of season why pay £12 pn for no facility's when for £6pn go on haven or other like sites with all seviced pitches. So in March they lose another member.
------------- live for today as tomorrow ma never come.
Erm, because some of us don't like Haven type sites or their locations, but each to their own. We will continue to be members of both clubs and use CLs/CSs.
well said anne. also dont lets forget what happened to all the other clubs /A.A. i.e/building societies that went public, all the members at the time got shares that they could sell for a nice little earner,
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
