£350 cassoa Gold.

Without wishing to go too far off-topic, whether a site is VAT registered or not makes no difference to the level of VAT that you would pay. VAT is payable on a service, not on case-by-case. Whether Caravan Storage is subject to VAT is a matter for the HMRC, not your storage site (or their accountant).

In short, self-storage has VAT levied. Self-storage is dependant on whether you have sole access so if you have a specific bay allocated then you should have VAT to pay. If you are told to park it in the field wherever you want, then arguably VAT should not be applicable as you do not have sole access.

Not true in the case of a small business that trades below the VAT registration limit, they have a choice to register for VAT or not, even when supplying a service that would normally be subject to VAT.

The question of the charge is not whether a company has registered or not, but whether it has been charged. VAT is still payable even if the company has not registered.

Not really on topic so I can only refer you to the HMRC web site for the regulations and the correct information.

We pay £91 a quarter for inside storage, its not cassoah but has good security with barriers, cctv and owners live on site. We are lucky as ours is stored inside a new building so its dry and kept out of the elements.

I dont thinks thats too bad really. Most seem to charge around £350 - £400 per year, there is one near us that charges £13 a week for twin axles (OUCH)
