Hi, picked up Sprite Major 6 2013(first van) and looking for some advice re setting up the gas. I have a BP Lite 6.5 kg bottle (green/clear plastic) which I am quite happy to re-fill if suitable. This bottle is quite slimline but not the shortest, are they suitable? Secondly the van has come with a regulator fitted on the bulkhead beside where the bottle spaces are, it has what looks like a 1/2" male thread for connecting on to. I have a regulator for the bottle but I am unsure as to what the setup should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I also use a BP lite bottle what we had to do was get a caravan connector for the bottle that is a pigtail that either connects on to a specific adaptor or a specially made up bp gas lie connector. You will find them online. You won't need a regulator as it is built in.
The connector you currently have is a POL connector.
This screws into the red calor / calor lite bottles.
You can get pig tails to connect your BP bottle instead, theonnector on the BP bottles is a 27mm clip on connector.
Thanks for all of the advice, just been very busy the last few days. Tentz thanks for the links but looking to clarify a few things before I order up. The clip on adapter I get no probs, the smaller adapter I'm not sure what that is for, can you explain. I maybe should have stated that the van didn't come with a pigtail hose, is there any specific type I need, I have noticed some are listed as butane hoses whilst other Propane, is it just the connections that are different? Hi Tentz and thanks again, I have now ordered the 27 mm clip on adapter and an identical hose to that you provided the link for. Am I correct in thinking I only need these two items to link up to the bulk head regulator on my the new van and a bp gas light bottle? Thanks.
