Hi, after years of using my beloved trailer tent I have recently bought a caravan.. It's a 1990 marden classique 2 berth. I was wondering if anyone can help with.....
A, tracking down a manual

B, getting an awning. All the lightweight ones state a minimum height for caravans and ours is 10cm too short. Would it make a difference?

C. Is there anywhere open during February so we can go away a try it out

Hope someone can help.

Theresa x

I can only help with the second question.

A few years ago we had a late 80's Avondale. We tried several lightweight porch awnings but they were all too tall and the hoop poles pushed the awning roof up over the roof of the van resulting in a mess of flappy nylon in all the wrong places which never inspired any confidence in their ability to stay up.

We eventually found a Sunncamp Contempo which fitted our awning rail height, it was quick and easy awning to erect and was weathertight. I believe they were only made in the lower height for one year so be careful if you are looking at a used one.

Hope this helps.

Can't help with the manual but I also have a lower than "norm" caravan (mine is 220cm high) so I was advised to look at motorhome awnings and eventually bought an Outdoor Revolution Touring XLS awning which is a brilliant fit, quick and easy to erect and gives a good, spacious living area with the advantage of an attached 2 person sleeping pod.
As for sites open now, try using the campsite search on here.

Happy caravanning xx

Our awning is a little long for our caravan so we just back our van up onto little caravan ramps they sell them at most caravan/camping stores.
