Hi can someone please help me i have a 1994 avondale caravan. when i put down the off side front leg support it pushes the floor up and then im unable to unwind the leg as the nut to turn has moved. please does anyone have any ideas I have checked the floor and it is dry
I wonder if there's some delamination in the area that has weakened the floor. Have you checked for damp with a meter or just by visual inspection?
Also, is there chance the steady has been over-crancked and effectively used as a 'jack' (incorrectly) to level the van at anytime?
hi paul yes there is a chance the previous owner may of done this however there is a damp area in the offside front corner which is right near where im haveing trouble with the steady lifting the floor do you think if i use delaminated floor kit it will solve this problem

Ah, you've found some damp then (your initial post suggested the area was dry).
I'd guess it has been damp and the floor subsequently damaged by the corner steady as obviously lifting into a soft floor. Very difficult to judge remotely with regards to floor the state of the floor.
The delamination kits will bond a dry floor that has (somewhat suprisingly) become delaminated, but from your comment, not likely to be of use in this instance.
I'd suggest you need someone to view this and give a proper opinion based on a full examination, so perhaps consider enlisting a mobile engineer to check over and advise.
I suspect the problem is with the wall rather than the floor. If the floor is solid but the wall is wet and soggy, the wall will stay put but the floor will lift independendently.
