Just don't go . I wouldn't .
I think when they add prices for awning as well as a caravan is pretty bad as well.
They would be better to just increase prices have one standard fee . Car caravan and awning plus ehu then you can see what you are paying for . If its too much don't go.
This is almost the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and anyone going to that site and paying for your tow car must be stark raving mad.
Although, I may get out my private plane and parachute my Sprite onto a pitch, at least that would save me some money. lol.
I understand site owners run a business and need to make money, but a caravan has to have a tow car and therefore is one unit. It;'s bad enough that we pay for a PITCH, then they charge you to put up and awning etc on the pitch. Lets give that site owner some more ideas, how about a fiver to get through the gate, three quid to fill your aquaroll, a fiver to empty your loo, three quid to empty your grey water, two quid to use the dog walk, a quid for the loo, two quid to use the shower, a quid check in fee, two quid to put a tv aerial up, pound for putting your jockey wheel on a pitch marker and lastly a fiver for the view. Marvellous, where can I book.
If they just charged whatever they wanted for a pitch then people would still moan that 2 people with a tent had to pay as much as 4 people & dog with a caravan. All any camper needs to do is look at the bottom line, what they actually have to pay.
Unfortunately, that seems to be the mentality in popular tourist locations and not just Cornwall.
Not content with making a profit, it is plain profiteering. Cornwall, over a 300 mile drive for me, high prices, tourists seen as grockles (people to extract as much money from as possible) I will happily go elsewhere.
The same in my nearest seaside resort, Skegness. In the summer, parking costs an arm & a leg, they also charge 20p to use the public toilets. The do because they can but in light of last years lousy summer weather, you would think they would try to encourage visitors.

OOoooh, I nearly forgot, a couple of quid for the air that breathe on the site. Fancy forgetting that.<img align="absmiddle" src="forum_images/smiley36.gif" width="17" alt="17">
Bournemouth next week end bed breakfast use of sauna swimming pool and fitness suite £26.56 a night makes you think about sites that are asking 20 quid now for a patch of grass

you right there is this caravaning becoming to dear now
we had a site trying to charge us for a new born baby a couple of years ago. I told them exactly what they could do with their site.
I really gets me sites that charge for awnings etc
And chaging for dogs. whats all that about????? fair enough if they have facilities especially for dogs (like a seperate dog walking area) that are taking up space that could be used for pitches etc. but otherwise why should a dog cost us more?
just avoid place like this like the plague. they will soon suffer
I am continuing to be shocked by all these prices. We started camping last year as a way of having some cheaper family holidays, amongst other reasons, but they are working out more expensive per night than the likes of some Premier Inn's. I know alot of the budget hotels aren't brilliant but some are pretty good and coming in cheaper than a night away camping!
We have booked a Premier Inn family room when we go to the NEC for Friday night. It was £29 and all the reviews are very good to excellent on the place so why is my little night camping at my favourite site now trying to charge £47 a night for the four of us?
Having said that, nothing beats the way we all relax, enjoy the country air, get quality time together, the freedom we give the children, the cycling together and games like 'it' we play ......
Ok, I rest my case! Couldn't get that in a car park of a hotel, could you?

Once in lifetime trip to Florida Oct 2015!!!
I've noticed several of the popular sites in Cornwall now having peak season run from Whit through to September. Our kids currently have two weeks at whit so I like to caravan for the normally much cheaper also much quieter 2nd week but not possible to get the price benefit at some places now
our campsite that we go on has jumped up in price by £10 in the last 3yrs and they used to do an offer book 7 nights and only pay for 5.now its book 7 pay for 6.can't really complain though as in the peak season it is probably £10 to£15 cheaper than other sites. we pay £32 per night peak season for 3adults and a dog.
How else do they expect you to get your caravan on site??!!
Maybe you could borrow James May's caravan with the airballon on and fly to the site!
Ridiculous to charge for a tow car - fair enough to charge for a second vehicle but not for the one that gets you and your party onto their site in the first place.
I would be looking for a different site.
I was thinking of saving fuel by using the motor mover instead of a tow car !!!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
