Hi, I am trying to set up the heating on my 2006 fleetwood heritage 640cb. I have not used the caravan for two years so I decided to drain the the heating down and I cannot get the heating to work the heat exchanger is getting hot but the water is not circulating, I do not have an instruction booklet for the digital heating control and I cannot find the bleed valves. I have bled the radiator. Please help Regards Bob
Almost certainly you have air trapped in the pipework causing an airlock the pump can't overcome.
You have basically two options.
1) Get and find every bleed nipple, my Hymer has 5 or 6 buried away in the furniture but all findable with sufficient care following the pipework circuit. Once found using a mirror, where difficult to see, I still had to dissemble slightly further removable panels to actually access some of them. Then progressively bleed any air from these topping up header to ensure it remains full; you might need to go round a number of times and even tip the van both up and down using the jockey wheel. But it is doable. You know its done when the pump actually gets the fluid ciculating.
2)Get a knowledgeable Alde competent engineer to purge your system with the special Alde priming/filling pump designed to force the fluid round the system and with it move the air and break the air locks. Even after that he should still bleed as many bleeders as he can find for the system to remain un locked.
