My 2003 Ace Daystar was made just before the 30mbar bulkhead gas regulators became mandatoty. Can they legally be retrofitted to vans that have the bottle regulators or is this prohibited?
I think the second-from-last paragraph on this thread will answer your question, but in view of the numerous complaints about bulkhead regulators since their introduction, is there a particular reason why you'd want to change?
I've taken the bulkhead regulator off and gone back to the old style so I can use the 7 kg butane bottles with the clip on regulator I also prefer this because the only high pressure gas is in the cylinder not in the pigtail that can leak (which has happened )
You can get and I have, 30 mB cylinder mounted regulator.
They are very common on German caravans and motorhomes. IMO a far more logically thought out option than the NCC route of requiring UK built vans to have highly pressurised pig-tails and bulkhead regulators.
