I know the 6 kg. 'Calor Lite' cylinders are more expensive to buy but these type have a gauge at the top with a red and green band showing exactly how full the cylinder is. I find this extremely useful as you are less likely to get caught out in the middle of the night exchanging gas cylinders from empty to a full one.
How much (roughly) are the calor lite cylinders? About to invest in gas bottles as our caravan did not come with any. We will need to go with propane as plan to be out in the cold - yup - August!!
Thanks for that. I had no idea that Go Outdoors did gas. Obvious when you think about it really! The light weight bottle makes a lot of sense so that will be our next investment.
I have just been told by my partner who works at Calor to look on the silver disk on the neck of the bottle. He says when they get filled at the plant they weigh then on scales whilst filling them. Hope this helps.
On a 6 its around 15-18. Then you minus the weight of the gas from that number

The last Calor lite (Propane) cylinder I bought was £21.99 as this was the I could find cheapest locally but it pays to shop around. Raymond James Caravans in Atherstone wanted £25.99 but I couldn't see any justification whatsoever in paying this price.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
