For: - less hassle when taking out of storage (opening them), protection from sunlight, less movement on the blind rollers/tracks making them last longer.

You travel with the blinds open because if you don't, and you bump along, that may just cause them to unroll open at a rate that may damage the springs. That just means an expense to get them corrected. Think about it, when you open the blinds in a morning do you release them and just let them go or take care opening them?
