Being relatively new to the luxuries and mysteries of the electric hook up can anyone tell me if it is possible to use a combi microwave on a site electric supply, or would it be liely to trip the system?
I think you would need to check how much power it uses then check what power comes from the hook up, you may have to turn off van heater, water heater etc if combined they use to much power, we always switch water heater off even tough our microwave is fairly low wattage

Advice from the C&CC: "Microwave ovens can also present problems – even though they may be advertised as (for example) 800W, the input operating power requirement, particularly on start up, may be up to twice this."
As an example they suggest a 800W microwave could draw 1000W which translates into 4.4 amps - which could represent almost half of a 10A supply, for example.
