Well I have spent the winter collecting absolutely 'essential' stuff that I have to have for the caravan, now I have to get in there and remove some of it ready to go away at Easter as the van is surely overloaded, full awning and steel poles 'hidden' in the boot of my sons car, good job he is away from home a lot off shore so hasn't noticed, but what other stuff can I remove...as it really is all essential, or should I get a trailer, roof box and take 2 cars, decisions, decisions LOL
------------- Live life to the full you are a long time dead
I always make 3 piles of stuff:
1. Essentials - clothes, bedding, food, toilet chemicals
2. Ideally would take - awning, chairs (these sometimes become essentials if going for more than 2-3 nights)
3. Will take if I have room - fairly lights, flag pole, bunting
I always seem to take loads of stuff that never gets used so after each trip I note what hasn't been used and then don't pack it next time. So far, very few of these items have made it back onto the essentials list!
We put bedding in the van carry awning poles food and clothes in the car. Oh and the tv.
Any thing else not allowed. When our boys were younger they were given a bag for any toys or things they wanted. If it didn't fit they couldn't take it.
In the summer we add lounger only one for me. Or we take it in turns.
