We bought a new Rimor caravan (Italian make) almost 2 years ago. The dealer sold it with a 5 year warranty but after purchase it transpired that it only came with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. Eventually the dealer agreed to cover it for a further 3 years using MB&G Insurance, for which we have a signed booklet.

The dealer has since gone into administration and we have just found out that he never paid for the policy and so it is not valid.

Apparently we cannot pay for the policy ourselves as only the supplying dealer can do that. Does anyone know of a comprehensive policy that we can set up ourselves? The caravan has been serviced each year so far.

We have had nothing but problems with the caravan so far and have been badly let down by the owner 3 Counties Caravans. If anyone is looking to buy a second hand caravan in North East please research any dealership carefully as he has now set up another dealership up there. I can't be specific as he has a habit of threatening legal action against what he perceives to be libel. Please message me if I can be of any help to avoid this conman. We are £1000s out of pocket.

Advice on a suitable warranty policy would be welcomed!

Would it be worth it? I am sure that any pre-existing problems with the caravan would be excluded from further claims. I am not aware of any extended warranties for caravan beyond what caravan dealers offer unlike cars where third party ones are readily avaialable. I could be wrong.
