You don't need EHU. If you have a battery, you can manage without EHU. Some caravans need a battery fitted regardless as the on board charger us as the name suggests a charger not a power supply. The water pump and most of the lighting will be powered by the battery.

We travel with all our luggage in the caravan. Many caravans have microwave ovens built in so no issues carrying it in the caravan provided it is secured. A caravan does bounce about a bit more than the car so bear this in mind when you put an expensive class vase on the table before departure.

Hi, we love tenting but after being cancelled twice last year as the pitches were waterlogged we decided to swap to caravanning. We had a large 7m x 4m tent for just us two and loved having a ready made bed plus room to move around; the caravan had to fill the same brief. We didn't research makes or anything as we had done with the tent, we went to the Show and just imagined how each layout would work for us. Once we had chosen the van we bought a towcar. We used www.whattowcar.com to find the right car for our van.
Have just returned from our first outing and loved every minute. Also loved filling the cupboards with my camping plates etc. so brought some old memories to start making new memories!
Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
There were a few tents on the site and I didn't envy them one bit. The site was full and having trouble with the electrics but we were able to run the fridge and heating off the gas and the lights off the battery. The only thing we couldn't use was the microwave, but as I have managed on 2 burners for years that was no hardship!!!
We surprised ourselves going for a caravan and considered ourselves hardened campers but would not consider going back to tents.
I'm sure you will love it as much as tenting.
