Hi. We have ordered a kampa air awning for our new caravan   My question as a novice is do I need to buy a draught skirt to go along the bottom of the caravan or do most awnings come with these.

The Kampa website page for this awning here states "Draught skirt included" under the Key Features heading.

Hi,

We opened our awning up today to try it out. Just a word of warning to be very careful, we ended up putting two small holes in the roof. We have a fairly smooth road but there must have been a little stone which has done the damage.

We did repair it but we are gutted that we have never used the awning and it is damaged already. It tore very easily as there were two of us moving the awning around. (We did not see it happen)

We had a Kampa tent and had no problems with it and to be honest expected the material to be stronger than it obviously is. Anyway, lesson learned, we will know from now on.

On the positive side, the awning was easy to put up.

Millie

Friends of ours used theirs for the first time last week, we were all very impressed, the only thing is it doesn't come with a wheel cover so you will need to purchase one of these. As someone as already said it does come with a skirt but it is quite flimsy.

Thanks everyone. We managed to put up the awning quite easily in the sun and we even managed to take it down in the snow.

One other small issue I found was that the pitch I was given sloped uphill quite a bit. When I inflated the tubes the last ground to van tube had a kink in it which I couldn't get out. I managed to pull the van forward a little bringing said tube down the slope a little, this sorted it. Just a little tip for anyone erecting on a steep slope!

What are they like in any kind of wind. It seems to me from looking at them on a tent in a local camping shop as if they would bow inwards with the wind.
