Hi guys, I'm in love with our little 1994/5 Elddis caravan, some people might call it a "crappy" but I love it. We got it from a friend who has had it for quite a few years and has really looked after it. He got a great deal on his new ( to him ) van so let us have it really cheap. We weren't even considering buying a van but the price was too good to refuse. Another reason is that it has got sentimental value to us too, we stayed in the van with our friend a couple of times, the last time we stayed with him I was pregnant and it was where I first felt our baby doing summersaults.
We never really used our tent apart from Chatsworth show once a year, we loved the camping but my OH works 7 days a week so I would be left setting/packing up with 3 little ones and it was just too much for weekends.
So here we are........... Having got the van cheap we have still spent the best part of £1000 in the last 10 days, god knows what that figure could have been if we hadn't got some camping stuff to begin with. I keep telling myself that because we got the van at such a very good price its not really costing us anything is it? All we are doing is spending what the van would have cost had we bought it elsewhere
Well, we are off for our second weekend in our little crappy with the kids, including the acrobatic baby who is now 2! He sleeps on the very same bunk I slept in while pregnant with him.
Still can't bring myself to get rid of the outwell though!
Welcome and congratulations you won't regret it. I held on to my Cabanon for 18mths before I passed it on to my brother but it was clear we had moved on from it.
Welcome to the nut house. Have a look at the Crappy old Caravan thead, theres loads of like minded gentle folk who would love to see a pic of your little beauty. Remember, Its not how much it cost, Its all to do with the amount of pleasure you get out of it. Have a great time in your new friend.
Hi guys, thanks for the lovely welcome. No more summersaults for us Oxter love our little van but had a bit of a problem over the weekend, I've started a thread over in repairs if anyone can help! Absolutely mortified and hope it doesn't spell the end to our short caravanning experience
