Can any one confirm if the Whale pressure switch can be replaced with a self adjusting pressure switch and if so where can I locate one of these switches? I am sick and tired of having to adjust the switch nearly every time we go out! Thanks.
There's no reason why not Surfer, they're a self calibrating switch that swaps out the existing. From what I understand, they only require a slight modification to wiring where you replace one that's currently integral to your water inlet housing.
I've only ever seen one firm sell these (occasionally) advertise in the mags), and I think they are the manufacturer too.
No website, but contact Mid Service Centre (Sutton Coldfield). Tel 0121 354 5552
I've located a copy of the install document at docstoc.com, which you can view here. You have to register with this site to download documents, but you can view this one without any such nonsense.
ah, didn't know these existed.
had trouble with my pressure switch on last outing.
are they "fit and forget"
mine's a truma one, seems to alter itself at different times of day.
maybe this is the solution,
anyone know how much they are

Thanks for the above but in our case we have the Truma fittings for the water system with a Whale pressure switch. Even connected to EHU the thing has a mind of its own.
When we first bought the caravan we had a number of issues with the water system and the pump running continuously or motor boating when filling the on board tank which was resolved.
After the last service this seems to have started again and when using the shower you can hear the onboard water pump fluctuating.
