I want to invest in a good heating system for the van.
At the moment I have the carver 3000 and I have bought the air blown bit to go on it but havnt fitted it yet.
I am lead to believe that you can get a electric element to go on the back of the fire too and a wall thermostat to keep the same temp all night.
I don't mind spending a few quid to set it up nice as I have a baby, child and misses that don't like the cold.
I have a oil filled rad at the minute but can't leave it out as baby will burn himself.
So what is my best bet, and could I get second hand to lower price bit,.

There is a good article on secondary heaters (fan blowers ect) in May issue of Caravan Magazine. This article is around awnings but might give some ideas I have a cool to touch blow heater think it was from Argos this might be an option so your little one is safe.
cheers Andy

I was thinking more on the lines of upgrading my standard system, with a thermostat on the wall so I can keep a constant temp through out the van.
My thoughts were,
The carver 3000 that I have or maybe upgrade,
The fan master that I have bought fitting to the back ,
And a electric element that goes between the fire and the fan master which I believe is controlled by a thermostat on the wall, ,
This way I can leave it on through the night with out having the gas on.
