does the brakes come on if you have to reverse uphill..? some say they do and others say not....reason for asking is our drive is on a slope, just wandering about getting it back on the drive when we take her out.....cant afford a mover at the min.....advise pls....
The older caravans and I doubt your jubilee is anywhere near, did not have automatic reversing facility eg you needed to get out of the car and set the hitch to prevent the brakes coming on when you reversed, then remove the reversing lock before going forward so as the brakes would work again.
On modern caravans the brake set up has an automatic reversing system that realises you are reversing so doesn't apply brakes

My antique caravan has this system. There is a little lever to turn off the brakes when reversing with a car. Doesn't seem to matter with the caravan mover.
auto release takes care of any reverse action one of the reasons you should pull forward slighty after reversing downhill to reset the brake pad to normal,i forgot one time and the van ran back about 6 inches and i pulled on the handbrake very quickly.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Might be worth getting an AWS mobile service guy to give you a quick chassis service Vonnie. After all the work you've done it would be good to know that the brakes, hitch etc. are all adjusted properly. Usually quite cheap too.
