This happen to me but different circumstance, we went to a dealer end of October to look at 2013 new van and decided on a new Elddis Super Cyclone our partex was a Bailey Unicorn 18 mths old. The dealer gave us top book price without having a look at our van, so we signed the paperwork and paid a deposit. Our Bailey was in storage at a local caravan site, couple weeks later decided to check van, l had kept the towing cover on and to my amazement the nearside top sucker came off and with high winds the sucker was hitting the corner of side panel. Damage was loads of dents on the panel 12" x 6". Took photos and seen a friend who does car body repairs, problem not the dents its is matching colour of paint and the whole side panel would need respraying, he could not give me a quote unless he seen the van he estimated anything upto a £1000.
Our dilemma what happens now with dealer, do we ignore it and hope for the best, do we take less for partex price, or call off deal and lose deposit. What we did was ring dealer and explained what happen, he said bring van into dealership so he could have a look. Took van in and he checked it and said no problem we can sort that out, partex price still the same. What a relief, l know our partex was sold within week of us picking up our new van. l will not leave a towing cover on the van while in storage (lesson learnt).
