Most problems with older caravans can be fixed. Electrics, if spares are not available you can usually upgrade with more modern components. Heaters are usually carver / Truma spares are available. Same with water heaters. Chassis components are readily available for Alko and BPW chassis.
If the upholstery is shot it can be expensive unless you know someone competent with a sewing machine. Damaged windows can be tricky (but not impossible) on some older models. The BIG ball ache is damp, what looks like a small patch can end up with haveing to strip furniture out and replacing acres of rotted tomber and wall board
